LIVING IN THE SONSHINE In 2003, Fin released "Living In The Sonshine", his first solo CD. He wrote the songs, played keyboards, bass, guitar as well as vocals on it. He also programmed all the drums and percussion. This CD is a mixed bag. "Living, There for You, Be My Shelter" are contemporary Gospel tunes, with a kind of funky/R&B feel. While "I want You Lord" and "I'll Remember You" are ballads. "An Offering" is a 'Saturday Nite Live' instrumental featuring Mike Bagasao on tenor sax. "Listen" is a Bruce Hornsby-ish piano driven song, and finally "Walkin' Shoes" takes you straight to church. Here's some of the players that contributed to the effort: Mike Bagasao-sax Tom Strahle-guitar Tommy Walker-guitar Kristina Hamilton-vocals Christine Duncan-vocals I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it. FIN JOHNSTON-biography Fin Johnston, composer, arranger, producer, keyboardist, bassist, and vocalist, was influenced in his teens by such artists as The Crusaders, Edgar Winter, and Herbie Hancock. In 1979, at the age of twenty-three, he moved from the Chicago area to Los Angeles to pursue his musical career. Since then, Fin’s work has included film, videos, television commercials and records, in addition to numerous concerts, club dates, and sessions. From 1990 to current Fin has been performing with Tommy Walker and the C.A. Worship Band of Los Angeles doing Worship Evangelism in the Phillipines, Japan, Singapore, Central America, Africa and the Continental U.S. In 1994, Fin began touring with Gospel recording artist, Bryan Duncan. Continuing to do spot dates throughout the year, in 1995, the group went to Europe and performed on a live tv show in Holland. Fin was employed by Maranatha! Music from1997-99 as a keyboardist/musical director for Promise Keepers, Luis Palau Crusades, and occasional Harvest Crusade dates in So. California. More recently, in late 2004 he finished building a recording studio/production facility at his residence. His first project was a CD for Christian recording artist, Tommy Walker entitled "Heal Our Land". It was recorded live in Zambia on the outskirts of Ndola with a 300 member volunteer African choir. Truly an amazing experience. There were four nignts of concerts beginning at around dusk. Once the music would begin, you could see families making their way from nearby villages. Many came to faith in Christ on these evenings. Fin continues writing/recording music for TV and radio, producing his own music as well as other artists.
