简介
Much, but not all of the album is defined by the theme song "Tough," in the same way that many of our lives (sometimes whole generations) have been shaped by the wars we have fought. Some time ago Jim heard a general say "It is not the steel in his hand, but the steel in the man." Jim tucked this away in his mind, and was later reminded of it by an inspiring radio interview. The subject of the interview was a solder who had lost all four limbs to a roadside bomb. He was winsome, positive and challenging, so Jim bought the soldier's book and we both read it. This song is for all who come back from war, often fighting more wars in their soul, weary, hurting and needing encouragement. The bridge ('be strong...") is a restatement of Joshua 1:9 that certainly applies to any person, soldier, civilian, man, woman or child who is fighting a war with others or with themselves. Thank you Travis.
