简介
Maybe it was the day Greg's Father let him hold his guitar that he was hooked on singing. He recalls a time around 5 or 6 when a cousin tried to teach him how to smoke. He took a drag and thought to himself, "I can't smoke, I'm going to be a singer!" He began singing onstage with his Father's band, "The Valiants" around age 13 and learned from watching his Father perform and has been writing songs and singing ever since. He made his first recording at age 18 featuring 2 songs he and his Father had written, along with 2 other songs, “Love Me Tender” written by Elvis and a song written by Neil Sedaka titled "Do It Like You Done It When You Meant It". Another recording followed featuring Carole King’s “Locomotion” and a song he wrote titled "You Were Always There" which led to guest television appearances, his own half hour special and several “Billboard” vocal and songwriting awards. Soon after he met Joyce Ur who became one of his best friends at a Songwriter's Association. They spent several years writing and recording together. A major musical influence for Greg is the legendary singer/performer Helen Reddy who wrote the women's anthem "I Am Woman" and charted dozens of top 10 hits. Greg jokes that Helen was his vocal teacher because he sang along with her records for years. Greg’s dream is to be discovered by legendary producer David Foster, meet Ellen Degeneres and Oprah and make a living as a recording artist. Other musical influences are: Bette Midler, Cher, Celine Dionne, Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Marilyn Martin, Lady Gaga, Michael Buble, Adam Lambert and Rene Olstead. Other projects include: CDs titled “Showbiz” and “Heart” produced by Mark Carroll. The CDs feature cover songs originally recorded by Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, Helen Reddy, Melissa Manchester, Nat King Cole, and an original song written by Greg's Father, titled "Time Will Change Everything". Greg's latest project is an original dance song featuring "amazing" supporting vocals by Jackie Hall about phony evangelists and those who choose to use the Bible as a weapon against those who are different. "The world is changing and it's time to join together, stop the hate and bullying and live as one." A YouTube video is in the works. He is currently finishing up several original songs that will be available soon.
