Andrew Marcus is a Christian worship leader based out of Langley, British Columbia. Some of his songs include Salvation and Glory, Shine in this place, I Know You Love Me and Future Glory. Andrew wasn’t born with a passion for music in the church. “I remember when my parents would drag me to church I would pretend I wasn’t feeling well and patiently wait in the bathroom until the music stopped. I had no reason to avoid it, but something was holding me back.” It was at the age of 18 that Andrew started having a passion in his heart for worship in the Church: the very same music he avoided. While attending a church service in Langley, Andrew patiently waited for the Lord to reveal Himself in a new and fresh way as he sat in the back corner of the balcony. “I remember so clearly, the Pastor of the church screaming to the congregation ‘I want you to think of all your talents, and offer them to the Lord!’” It was in that moment that Andrew raised his hands to the heavens and offered music. “At the time, I never touched a guitar and I barely knew anything about a piano but for some reason I offered music to him. At the time I had no idea why I offered it, but I soon realized as God continued to work in my life.” Literally days later, Andrew received an email from a man who taught guitar lessons. He explained in the email that he did not teach just anyone, he only taught people who wanted to use their talents for God’s glory. Immediately Andrew felt a confirmation and signed up for lessons. After four lessons, Andrew and his guitar teacher both felt it was ready to start getting involved with a church. The teacher was blown away with how fast Andrew learned the guitar and knew that God was all over the situation. Andrew started praying about learning piano. On his way home from work he was praying for God to show him a sign if he should learn piano. As he was praying a lady pulled up beside him at a red light. She had an 8x11 paper on her back window that read: “I TEACH PIANO LESSONS! CALL ME!” In amazement, Andrew was too shocked to write down the lady’s number, however, weeks later the Lord taught him everything he needed to know about the piano and prepared him for something he never expected. Working as a worship leader by the age of 19, Andrew began traveling in Canada leading worship at conferences and church services. At 21, Andrew became heavily involved with a new Church plant in the Okanagan as a Youth Pastor and worship leader. “My prayer is that the God continues to use me as a vessel to fuel the church and touch the broken through the melodies he places in my heart.” After moving to the Okanagan for Youth Ministry Andrew crossed paths with worship leader and music producer Malcolm Petch who was interested in recording songs that Andrew felt were from God’s heart. The album contains many musical instruments combined together producing heaven’s melodies from the heart of God. Andrew’s influences include European artists: Tim Hughes, Matt Redman, Delirious, Muse, and Coldplay. Andrew’s twelve exceptionally unique tracks including the instrumental opener and fire, songs that give us a chance to really enter in the Lord’s presence, seeking God’s heart and pleading for His fire to fall. The title track Salvation and Glory creates a depiction in our minds of the Lord’s glorious return. “The day of salvation will soon arrive/the day when all nations will come alive/the day when we all scream long live the king/the day when His glory is all we’ll sing. Hallelujah Hallelujah Salvation and Glory/ Hallelujah Hallelujah we sing of your glory Lord.” Other inimitable tracks include “I’ll Run To You” starting off with a jazzy introduction then bursting into an explosion of worship to the Almighty King. The upbeat track ”Shine In This Place” allows worshipers to sing with freedom as the lyrics declare the Lord’s love and faithfulness shining in our everyday lives while I Know You Love Me helps every listener understand the true meaning of hope: “At the cross You sacrificed Your one and only Jesus/Now I live with grace and glory.” Andrew is currently working on completing his first book entitled Extraordinary Living, a book in which he shares his life experiences encouraging believers to walk in faith and gain a strong foundation in Jesus Christ.
