Pushin heat from the streets to the beats. Mississippis Antezy has resurfaced as a solo artist with his d**e lyrics and doe boy tracks. I dont see myself as a rapper - I am a voice. I was born in Jackson, Mississippi. The Capitol City, home to David Banner, is overflowing with talent and potential, but is economically deprived. A place like Jackson has many traps for a young black male such as myself, but I consider myself lucky. As a kid my parents listened to what we call, the down home blues. They listened to artist such as, Bobby Rush, Tyrone Davis, B. B. King, and Johnny Taylor. Their troublesome yet soulful music was an expression of life, therefore becoming a part of mine. As far as rap goes, I first listened to rappers such as: The Geto Boys, Ice Cube, Too Short, 2live Crew, UGK, Snoop Dog, Tupac, and Eightball & MJG with my older brother and cousins. The beats were bangin, and they were saying the sh*t we wanted to hear. I developed a deep passion for music. I started rappin with my friends from my hood. We used to have rap battles to kill time, and at first I couldnt really rap, so I got slaughtered everytime! I got tired of getting embarrassed, so I practiced when I wasnt with them. I got so tight that they began asking me to rap for them! I went on to freestyling against people at school, parties, and in the street just to show off for fun. But it wasnt until Master P(No Limit) and the Hot Boys(Cash Money) blew up New Orleans did I think I could really make it. Music was no longer a past time but a ticket out and I took it very seriously. When I was fifteen(1999) I formed my own record label called, Reconize Records and Entertainment. Reconize Records first group was called the South Boss Mafia (SBM)consisting of me and five other neighborhood friends. I independently released our first CD statewide under the Reconize Label selling over 3000 copies. We performed all over Mississippi gaining a write up by Charlie Braxton in The Murder Dog Magazine. We accomplished a lot to been so young, but it just wasnt enough. I was still a teenager trying to handle a fast pace business, go to school, and run the streets at the same time. I lacked the business knowledge, staff and funding that I needed to maintain a successful record company. SBM grew apart and I began to search for a place in the industry as a solo artist. My efforts with SBM created a name for myself in the local music arena. Not only did I rap, I did all the production for SBM, and soon other artists began contacting me for tracks. Thus making producing the fuel I needed for my career. I produced the song, Floss and Brag, for J Records/1life1love recording artist Boo da boss playa(2001). The song was a regional hit receiving countless radio and club spins, only boosting my status as a producer. I also gained recognition in a totally different market by doing production on Robert The Duke Tillman blues CD.I have also done production for: Grandaddy Souf(SRC/Universal), Jewman(Jew Inc.), Pilla Boyz, Co-Still(89 Music), Baby Stone(Cornerboy Worldwide),Queen Boyz(1life1love), and many more. I was named one of Jacksons top producers in LMD Magazine(2006). I gained an affiliation with Smoke-D of (UGK/GFM) Records. Smoke-D and I formed a coalition of icons named The Hustle Squad Clique (HSC). HSC consists of, Frank da Macka(Grown Man Music), I-E(I-E Muzik),and Renzo,(Shackhouse Records). HSC has produced two underground mixed tapes called, Hustle Squad Clique - Volume 1 and Hustle Squad Clique Most Wanted vol. 2. Reconize Records other artists, Lil Lee, Billy Boss are both in the studio preparing for release in the spring of 2007. Currently I am working on my debut CD entitled, Reconize!, with an expected JANUARY 2007 release. I talk about things Ive seen and endured during my 22 years living in Jackson. Be it good or bad, happy or sad, its a way of life. Showcasing my lyrical and production skills, this release will prove that I have something to offer the world.
