Mr. Steve & Miss Katie write fun songs for kids that grownups also enjoy. They blend positive messages with upbeat sing-and-dance-along songs, often teaching lessons throughout their music. Originally New Jersey natives (Steve from Pennsauken and Katie from Clinton), they’re married and now live in PA. They are heavily inspired by the antics of their own two children. As a result, their song themes are always kid friendly and based on fun topics such as trains, smiling, moving and playing, cleaning up, farm animals, saying please and thank you and more. They currently have two CDs available, “Smile” (2015) and “Are You Ready? Here We Go!” (2007). Katie Piperno is a music teacher – Steve Piperno, a rock ‘n roller. As musicians, Steve and Katie are inspired by the positive influence music has on the emotional and intellectual development of children. Mr. Steve is a singer, songwriter, producer, mixer and multi-instrumentalist who has toured the country. His music has been featured on TV and in several independent films. He scored most of the music for “New Jersey, The Movie.” When he’s not writing music, he enjoys taking things apart to see how they work. Miss Katie is a classically trained vocalist who holds a Master’s degree in music education from Montclair State University. She has more than 13 years of experience working with kids and music, including teaching chorus, general music, early childhood music classes, and directing grade school musicals and drama programs. When she’s not singing, playing ukulele or teaching, she’s usually enjoying a good book. Mr. Steve & Miss Katie write, produce, record and mix all of their own music in their home studio.
