简介

It has been long debated whether it’s possible to have psychic abilities. To be able to foresee the future, to have clairvoyance or as it’s often referred to: extra sensory perception. There are many definitions and interpretations of extra sensory perception (or ESP), Jahan Nostra’s definition may be perceived as a more practical approach. With his album being titled “ESP”, Jahan describes it as using and trusting your intuitions to bring you down the path of what you want to achieve. This way of thinking has translated into the approach he’s taken in recording “ESP”, the follow up to his debut full-length album “Sleepwalking”. As an artist of wide-ranging tastes, he counts Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Tupac, GZA of Wu-Tang Clan, screenwriter David Simon and Magic Johnson as inspirations to this album. The album’s title also serves as a double meaning referring to the part of town Jahan grew up in, the East Side of Stamford. A good portion of the album is autobiographical. On songs like “Champagne Life”, “Living Your Life” and “What You Sayin” he touches on topics such as a life changing car accident he was in that left his then DJ Big Ben permanently impaired, being a neighbor to a Grammy nominated jazz musician and sitting next to Michael Jordan at a New York Knicks game. The album features guest spots by Philadelphia’s Tone Trump, Hip Hop artist and actor in the Rocky sequel “Creed”. Other features include the legendary Smif-N-Wessun of Boot Camp Clik, Ceschi of Fake Four Inc and soul singer Omar Wilson amongst others. The album is mastered by Los Angeles Grammy nominated engineer(Flying Lotus, Kendrick Lamar) and founder of “Low End Theory” Daddy Kev.
