简介
The Scrubs are back. And Return To The Basement picks up where this trio left off with six blistering punk rock gems. Always poppy and always punk, The Scrubs are legends of the Cincinnati punk rock scene. From 1999 to 2001, they embodied the true spirit of DIY music by booking, promoting, playing and even running sound at their shows, becoming popular throughout the Midwest as they toured extensively. After trying out other musical projects, The Scrubs reunited in late 2003. In Cincinnati, it was a little bit like Michael Jordan coming out of retirement. In 2004, they recorded 3 powerful new songs and added them to the 3 songs they recorded just before breaking up in 2001 to form Return To The Basement. As a bonus, the CD includes a music video for fan-favorite song "4:30 AM." It's no secret that Scrubs guitarist Jamie Mandel runs punk label Nice Guy Records. Since he started Nice Guy partly in reaction to previous bad label experiences with The Scrubs, releasing Return To The Basement is a special treat. "It's pretty great finally being able to put out my own band," says Mandel. For Scrubs fans, the new album is pure excitement. For those unfamiliar, fans of Jawbreaker, Alkaline Trio and Green Day will appreciate the straight-forward punk tunes of the great band with the terrible name.
