What I love the most about writing music, it the fact that you can take your audience on a journey. I want listeners of this CD to hear the stories of the women in the song, whether it is mine, or another woman's, or a story created by me. If you can feel it, that makes it real. Press it Down is the title of the album and the first track. I like it because it clevery hides a message of inappropriate PDA. I don't have a problem with it, but many people do. This song is about a girl begging her date to not start anything that he can't finish right here and now! If This Ain't Love is the story of a woman in love with a man and later finds out, he never loved her. He only used her and left her with tears. I think many men and women can relate to this story because at first, every relationship looks like real love. Love Song is one of my favorite songs. I wrote this song as a sort of anti forever after. Often times we have the perfect love in our lives and do not realize it until it has gone terrible wrong and that love is lost. This is the story of a woman who had the perfect love, and lost it. Now, all she does is travel, singing her sad song of sorrow to all who would hear. Leave a Trail for You is the story of a couple who in my mind always had the wrong timing. I think most of us can relate to having a crush on someone, but either the crush or you were always in a relationship at opposite times so, you could never see if a relationship was ever an option or if it would work. Leave a Trail, is the story of the girl saying, I know you are with someone right now, but if it does not work out, I want you to know how to get to me. She is leaving the door open for the chance of love with this man. Queen Bee is probably the favorite live song that we perform on this album. It is actually based on a true story. I dated a young man, and heard on the streets that he was gay. Yeah, and I tell this exact story during live shows. And as I was writing the song, I imagined what it would have been like to have found out first hand that he was a "queen." This story has a very happy ending though, I married a wonderful man who is very straight! And to my knowlege, my former queen is also very happy.......and does not know that I know. A "T" in my Heart is the story of trouble. Trouble, hurt, and pain left behind from a previous relationship. The singer is filled with sorrow over the fact that she alone bears the scares and the pain of this relationship. I think this song hits home for everyone, because when you are hurting over a past love, you feel that the other person is happy. It looks like they have moved on, and everything is perfect in their life and all you want to do is make them feel the same agony that you continue to relive daily.
