简介
The simple beauty and intensity of the twelve songs in which Chandler looks at the world seems evidence of a talent already out of the ordinary (Rumore) One of the most interesting realities of the moment, and not only of its kind (Repubblica) We will see what will happen in the future but maybe already a star was born (Buscadero) For him it's to decide whether to remain a Devendra Banhart or to try to become a Donovan, a Cat Stevens, a James Taylor, or an Al Stewart. He also has this potential shown by the fourth track (Audio Review) A gem intended for an indie audience (Jam) The record provides clear evidence that the work here is a real talent (Mucchio) A debut worthy of attention, a short indie folk essay of our day, which will not be difficult to fall in love with (Rockerilla) This is how some of the main Italian music magazines have described his first published work in 2012. And now after two years, Casey Chandler, the Texan songwriter originally from New York, better known as Galapaghost, returns with a new work entitled Dandelion. Produced by Ru Catania and published, as before, by his independent label Lady Lovely. Thanks to the now established collaboration with Audioglobe, the album will be available in all record stores on Friday, October 11. Eleven songs written entirely by Casey Chandler in America, except for two songs which were co-written with Federico Puttilli (Nadar Solo). Though the majority of the arrangements of the folk singer were already impeccable in the beginning stages, Ru Catania has shown in his study of the songs, the guidelines of the sound of the album. He dealt with the recording and artistic production, finding Federico Puttilli to be a cool and competent employee. A work in progress, the label decided to make Galapaghost one of the very first projects launched by the then unknown Musicraiser, now a known portal for crowdfunding music. Thanks to a little over one hundred fans, Galapaghost was able to collect a sufficient amount of money to plan and implement the next steps of mastering, printing, and promotion. The songs were mixed by Ru Catania and Federico Puttilli in Italy, as well as Belgium, and mastered by the impeccable Mauro Andreolli of Das Ende Der Dinge to complete the production of the album. The lyrics are introspective, though less dark than the previous work, while the music is more rough and mature, perhaps darker. It still remains alternative folk, always carrying the mark of the distinctive voice of Casey. The Lady Lovely studio proved to be a winning formula for this album, as it allowed the singer to take advantage of a better quality of sound compared to his previous recordings. It enabled him to expand the color palette of his sound and expressive possibilities, yet remaining in one dimension. Meanwhile, he was living in a friendly home at the foot of the mountains, away from the hustle and bustle of top-class studios, which are unsuited for his personality. ____________________________________ Credits: Casey Chandler: vocals, acoustic guitar, ukulele, piano, synths, bass, glockenspiel, harmonica, percussion. His influences range from historical greats to the latest. From Simon & Garfunkel to Midlake, Neil Young to Espers. A musical texture that is simple, yet has a strong emotional impact. In 2010, Casey Chandler, aka Galapaghost, accompanied John Grant in Europe and North America as a touring musician. His song Never Heard Nothin' received more than 60,000 plays on the internet and thanks to the internet, Ru Catania, founder of the Lady Lovely Label, discovered it and decided to produce it. In 2012, Lady Lovely released the first Galapaghost album entitled Runnin', which was well received by critics. The release was followed by a very successful winter tour of Italy, in which the public got to enjoy a very intimate live show. Casey was accompanied by musicians Federico Puttilli (Nadar Solo) and Ru Catania. After the tour, the three separated and went back to their respective lives: Casey in Texas, Federico in Torino and Ru in Brussels. A few months later they all meet up again at the Piedmont Lady Lovely Studio, where together, they record the eleven tracks that make up the second Galapaghost work entitled Dandelion, which is due out October 11, 2013.
