Born into a musical family it comes as no surprise that Shannan “ShaeMill” Miller has chosen to pursue a career in music. According to this multi-talented lover of the arts, she has been surrounded by music since birth. Her grandma says that before she could talk she would hum herself to sleep. When she was a little girl her mother sang and played the guitar, and was a member of the Outreach Gospel Band. Shae fondly remembers accompanying her mother to many of her rehearsals. Her grandmother was also the choir director at church. Music was always present in the house as her grandfather who was an avid vinyl record collector and her auntie Joan always played a wide range of music at home such as Rock Steady, Reggae, Dancehall, Country, Gospel, Latin, Jazz, Blues, Soul and Disco. It wasn’t long before Shae began to sing in church. She was so little at the time that she had to stand on a chair during her performances. She credits her family and the church for the development of her talent in her earlier years. By the time she was in the third grade she was singing at concerts, weddings and school events. In 2002 Shae Mill went on to Northern Caribbean University (NCU). While in college she met a fellow student by the name of Jermaine “TOne” Hamilton. Tone was also very involved in music and encouraged Shae to learn audio engineering and practice making beats. She did just that. Since then Shae Miller has worked with other producers, artistes and production houses. She has done background vocals for established artistes including Tiana, Lady G, JahVinci, Chuck Fenda, Macka Diamond, Spice and more. She has also added professional songwriting to her list of talents and has been ghostwriting for several local acts. Shae hopes to make her label, Diphrent Shaedz, one of the top labels in the island and even in the world. Shae has performed at several major events including Negril One Love Reggae Concert which also featured Wayne Wonder. She also performed on the Red Star concert along with Tiana, Shaggy, Elephant Man and a number of other artistes at the Jungle Night Club in Negril. Her first official release came in early 2013. The song titled If Yuh Think Yuh Bad on the Hot Pursuit Rhythm features recording artiste, Tiana. The rhythm composed by Shae Mill and produced by Carlington Wilmot on the Outaroad label also features several other major artistes. Her hot new single A You Mi Love produced by Myestro Entertainment is receiving rave reviews on social media. The official video for the song premiered on Hype Tv on July 12 and continues to be in heavy rotation. Armed with musical genius, close to 300 beats and albums worth of recorded music, this 5’3” of pure platinum is ready for success in the music business both locally and internationally. Shae says “I was born for the arts-all of them. I write, I perform, I draw, I paint. The people I have in my life are all responsible for the incredible skills I possess today. The struggles I have had in my life are responsible for the armor that my skin has become. I am unbreakable, unstoppable.”
