Come, Come, Ye Saints is the 2016 Geslison Groberg release. The music on the recording is of the distinctive Geslison Groberg sound known as Nostalgic Americana. The music is primarily from the LDS Hymnal, but most of the hymns are also very well-known among various Christian congregations. The instruments used on the recording are handmade and include: nylon-stringed guitar, steel-stringed guitar, mandolin, octave mandolin, piano, bass, banjo, flute, clarinet, and some voice. The music is meant to take the listener back in time to the period known as "early America." This generally refers to the time frame that encompasses the decades prior to the Revolutionary War to the Civil War period. Those decades were filled with a great deal of religious fervor and Christian revivalism. It was also a time of growth across the American continent. Many Americans attended church on Sundays and sang hymns in their churches and homes. This recording reflects back to those days, but presents the hymns with a more gentle flavor provided by the acoustic instruments used on the recording.
