Timing of the Void was recorded at Folkvang Studios in Austin, TX and produced by Bryan Richie of fellow ATX metalheads The Sword. Featuring eight monolithic tracks of the quartet's fist-raising "InstruMetal", the record's title and overarching theme is based on The Book of Five Rings, a text on kenjutsu and the martial arts written by Japanese swordsman Miyamoto Musashi circa 1645.
