简介
Greg Joslin has enough heart to power a spaceship to the moon and back. December 10th, 1985, a miracle baby is born in Flint, Michigan. Birthed prematurely and under the average weight in size, Greg Joslin lived the first month of his life in an incubator. Although the odds of surviving were against him, Greg amazingly pulled through and went home with his parents. Flint, Michigan, globally known for the rise and fall of General Motors, and one of the highest crime rates in America, is where Greg lived for the majority of his life. Greg quickly realized the importance of trust, love, and loyalty. Growing up, Greg became fascinated with music at a very early age, after receiving a toy drum set for Christmas and as time went on, he would learn various instruments. As Greg grew older, he developed a close relationship with his Mother. She would later motivate and support Greg's musical endeavors and encourage him to pursue his dreams of being a professional musician. When Greg was 7 years old, his family decided to leave Flint and move to Raleigh, North Carolina hoping to find a better quality of life. At the age of 12, Greg started experimenting with hip-hop regularly, writing raps, and freestyling to entertain his friends and pass time. Shorty afterwards, Greg started getting into trouble more often, focusing less on school, and would grow more rebellious towards his parents. At 17 years old, his grades were falling, his parents separated, and Greg moved back to Flint to live with his Grandmother. When Greg returns to Flint, he is only concerned about two things, money and girls. Already given up on school and familiar with the drug trade, Greg would spend the next 2 years bouncing from house to house, couch to couch, working full time and hustling to support himself and his party hard lifestyle. On the run, Greg decided to move in with his family in northern Michigan, away from Flint, and all the trouble he was surrounded by. Around the age of 19, Greg created a low budget home studio, he began learning the processes of recording & engineering, in which not only taught him how to record himself, but also influenced his decision to focus more on his music, and less on partying. At the age of 22, Greg met local rap artists, and ClockWerk Musick founders, Shemy and Kevin "KG" Clouds. Greg would soon affiliate under ClockWerk Musick and record multiple promotional mixtape tracks. At this time, ClockWerk Musick was making a huge impact on the local music scene, and Greg Joslin was recording daily and performing any chance he could under the alias "Young Gutta" & "Gutta Gutta". At the end of 2009, Greg decided to go with his actual name, instead of using a stage name. " A name is just a name, the music will speak for itself " says Joslin. Afterwards, Greg began to work on releasing official singles, working with legend Bernard Terry of Area 52 Studios for mixing, and using producers such as Rio & Bengiie from The Fli Boyz, AMad Productions, WHP and Nygee Gant. Joslin's first single "Grown Man" caught the attention of many, shortly after Greg won Club 93.7's 810 Local Flow & Local Show with "One 4 Me" and began catching momentum daily. Now he is currently in the studio working on his debut album "Definition of Greatness" which will be released in 2011, and performing through out Michigan with Forever Fly Entertainment and various national recording artists. © Greg Joslin 2010
