RockSteady Haneefah Rahmaan is about to release her debut album, much to the excitement of her already sizeable army of fans. With the album expected to be a success and fame imminent, the exciting, newfangled sound that she has made her own is certain to gain interest across the world. The development of her unique style is the result of a lifetime of musical influence. Growing up in South Central Los Angeles in a family with Aunties and a mother that love soul music.Her Aunt Grace Marie (Reita) particularly and her mother unlocked the door for her love of music. Her family and educators exposed her to a wealth of music especially gospel. Gospel music soars throughout her music when performing her vibratos from mountain highs to valley lows. After graduating frm Alexander high School Music Academy in 1998 Haneefah relocated to the Bay area to attend CSUEB.. The move was very spontaneous considering the situation at the time. One vist with her Mentor Gayle Wilson led to a move that would forever change her life. In 2008 she graduated form CSUEB with a BA in History with a minor in Afro Am Ethnic Studies. From there she went on to perform her call of duty in the education arena. Haneefah is a natural born educator as well as a natural born singer. She began teaching in 2008 after graduating and discovered that her confidence grew. Her style developed and soon she met Milani Pelley at EC Reems Academy of Technology and Art. From there Haneefah had developed an affnity with music after being tested between her love of muisc and teaching. The musical ambition grew, aided by Milani Pelley, the relationship between the true school producer Jabari Tawiah asserted itself. Since this union, there have been other unions that have affected and influenced Haneefah’s song writing changing the degree of her muisc and adding new sound bites rearranging the whole dimension of her sound. Currently, she is working on an Album with the trademark clothing label Saints and Heathens: Miles Brandon. The album features Haneefah and Miles on vocals, as well as Sage on electric and bass guitar, Jabari Tawiah on keys and many others that contribute to the custom tailored made sound these individuals create. Get ready to kick off your heels and groove with this vocalist. RockSteady is truly gong to make you wanna do many things and you will want more.
