简介
I owe the most thanks to my wife Mary. For all the love and support she's given me through the years. I'd been kicking around playing in a couple of bands and trying to get my music heard. One day she looked at me and said "you have to record this stuff." This "stuff" are songs about and inspired by real life. "Grace" was written after my mom, Alma, passed away. We cried when God took her, but it was by His grace that we even had her and the gift of life that she gave us. So it was with her in my mind and in my heart that I put together the song list for this recording. A couple of these numbers were her favorites. I dedicate this CD to her memory. They are songs about life, love, loss, and redemption. It was a lot of work to get here, but we did it. It was with the support of my wife, my family, and a whole host of friends that have inspired and influenced these compositions. I couldn't have done it otherwise. The journey started in Derek Sulliman's basement. He will get credit below as playing drums but he should also get credit for so much more. Answering the phone, listening to the nonsense, and helping me make sense of it would be just the beginning. His daughter, Grace, by way of lending her name, was the original inspiration for the song. Thank you Gracie girl, from "just Jimmy". Special love and shout out to the Horvaths (road manager and back up singer Barb), the Duvas (percussionist and head chef Paul), the Kerrs (drummer Bob), and the Rainwaters for their support and musical contributions. I hope you enjoy this music as much as I did writing and performing it. I also had the help of some first class performers backing me up. Dave Branning, Hammond B3 and piano Andy Carbone, Bass Jenn Cherry, Backing Vocals Kim Hoffman, Violin and Backing Vocals Ed Iarusso, Pedal Steel John Lampson, Guitar Stephan Page, Piano and Organ Dan Prindle, Cello Nick Raisz, Drums Max Rainwater, Violin D Sulliman, Drums Rod Warner, Backing Vocals and Organ Bobby Kerr, Backing Vocals and cover photo (and still best friend) And many many thanks to Rod Warner, Green Olive Lounge Recording Studio Coventry, CT for the production, mixing and mastering. Dude has got a magic wand! Thanks also to Tom Russo who gave me my first guitar lesson and gave me the confidence to keep writing. Without the help of all these people this project would never have gotten off the ground. It certainly wouldn't have sounded the same! Thanks everybody!
