Batfoot! is a band that fits very well in the category of bands that don’t seem to take themselves too seriously yet manage to pump out incredibly good songs. They’d fit in great next to bands like the Steinways and the Queers. Hailing from Sydney, Australia you can tell they have a heavy Ramones, Screeching Weasel, The Queers, Chixdiggit influences. Before this album Batfoot! released a couple of EP’s, they were pretty good but the Brain Dead album is so great it’s better than both of the EP’s combined. A requirement for any pop punk worth its weight has some songs about girls, and Batfoot! has plenty of those, this album is stacked with anthems about girls, and every one of them is great to sing along to. But sprinkled in with that is other great non-girl songs like ‘Kill The Referee’ which pretty much any sports fan can get down with. If you like pop punk pick this album up, you’ll be listening to it a lot.
