简介
Kitchen’s last effort “Underground” was hailed as “dizzyingly catchy” – ABSOLUTE POWERPOP” Why does David Kitchen attract so much attention? Is it the revelation that the lanky rocker is such an electrifying powerhouse of music? Or how his wistfulness delivered with a sly grin disarms even the most cynical? Maybe we just like the way his infectious hooks and grooves make us forget why we’re blue. The frequent comparisons to Buddy Holly and Paul McCartney are just two ways of saying, indeed, there is something here for everyone. At closer inspection, we see that Kitchen’s tunes find clever ways of celebrating life’s imperfections in the midst of our difficult times with his energetic, melody driven sound. David Kitchen Live at Goose Creek is a high-energy recording of the band’s showcase performance in Northern Virginia’s Goose Creek Live concert series. The recording captures Kitchen’s uncanny ability to catch the attention of even the most discerning pop music seekers. It includes five tracks penned by Kitchen himself, two co-writes, and his own versions of other powerful songs including a raucous rendition of the notorious anthem “Peace, Love and Understanding” by Nick Lowe. The CD was produced by Mike Pugh and Stuart Martin, Goose Creek Music and Entertainment. The David Kitchen Band includes David Kitchen – Guitar, Lead Vocals; Anthony Pirog – Lead Guitar; Larry Ferguson – Drums; Ariel Francis – Bass and Vocal Harmonies. “The band showed up not knowing what to expect but ready to play and the folks with Goose Creek could not have been more helpful and more committed to making this a memorable show. We’re really proud of this CD and the way it captures our live sound and energy.” —David Kitchen ARTIST FACTS: • WAMMIES: Washington Area Music Association Songwriter of the Year & Song of the Year “If Love is Blind” • “If All I Had Was You This Christmas” appeared on The Young and The Restless. • Wrote & performed theme song for Washington D.C.’s 48 Hour Film Festival
