简介
INDORIA was formed in 1998. Co-founders Douglas Esper and Adam Probert met while Douglas was trying out for a metal band that Adam was playing in. Doug made the band, but the pair soon realized they had more in common with each other than with the other members. Adam was on the verge of founding his recording studio STRANGELOVE RECORDING and the pair demoed some INDORIA material as the studio was coming together. Over the years the band had a rotating lineup but maintained both Douglas and Adam as the driving force behind the electronic music. They played many shows between 1998-2002, and shared the stage with great acts like Unified Culture, the Alter Boys, Racermason, Dog Fashion Disco, Tub Ring, Infinite Number of Sounds, Finless Brown, Furnace Street, Estradasphere, Hungry Lucy, Chiasm, and State Of Being. As STRANGELOVE RECORDING became bigger and busier, Doug craved to do more rock oriented material. It became apparent that INDORIA had run it's course. Adam continued to operate Strangelove Recording and perform with Cleveland acts such as: The High Life Tragedy, The Mo Andrews Band, Darling Waste, Poster Child and Pilots and Passengers. Doug formed the key-rock band THE FIRMARY and performed for the next 3 years. In November of 2006 after 5 highly successful years, Adam closed the doors of Strangelove Recording to pursue a new career in Key West, Florida. Over the next 3 years he traveled and worked in Maine, Key West, Denver, New Orleans and China as a deep sea diver. The duo kept in touch as time passed and recently realized they had more songs inside of them that needed to be polished off. In January of 2009, Adam moved back to Cleveland where the 2 picked up again and began writing material for a new release. In March of 2009, the pair joined forces with local polka legend Michele Esper. Her dynamic voice helped re-define the band's approach to writing and performing. INDORIA was joined by Tim Svitak in January of 2010. Tim performed for years with the hard rocking instrumentalists AND SAY WE DID. His unique approach to guitar proved to be the missing piece of the puzzle. INDORIA has a renewed focus to help pave a new niche in electronic music. The group has recorded 11 songs for release with it's latest disc "ten years in one night". When asked about the meaning behind the name vocalist Douglas Esper said, "there are several meanings in that title. One is that it has been a long journey to get to this point, but looking back now that the album is finished the last ten years seem like a blur. The other is in regards to my wife, Michele, we dated for awhile, split, and then got back together about ten years later. Also, the song with the same name that appears on our cd is based on a scene from the book THE GUNSLINGER by Stephen King. The scene is a long conversation which takes ten years in reality, but when the conversation ends it feels as if only one night has passed."
