简介
This project takes us on a journey through Nathaniel's early years by giving us a glimpse of what he listened to that has helped shape him into the gifted musician he is today. On Back To Bassics, you'll find a diverse selection of genres from funk to gospel. Nathaniel covers music from Tom Petty to Luther Vandross, with a few original compositions to complete this well-rounded project. You'll get your groove on to 'Shake' (Gap Band) and slow dance to 'Human' (The Human League). This album is an artful mix of music that will bring you back to bassics. Nathaniel began his musical journey as a drummer at the age of 8 but transitioned to bass at the age of 15. Most of Nathaniel's experience comes from playing in church, but he quickly learned to adapt to any genre. He has played with such gospel artists as Kurt Carr, BeBe and CeCe Winans, and Dorinda Clark-Cole. He has recently transitioned into the smooth jazz arena. He plays regularly with artists such as Brian Culberton & Eric Darius, but has recently had the pleasure of working with Chuck Loeb, Jonathan Butler and Brian Simpson. As his first project, Nathaniel co-produced this album with the talented James Roberson (JRob Productions, LLC). The album is a fine mix of classic tunes and original pieces that showcase Nathaniel's creativity and eclectic taste in music. The hope is that this album will take you back to days when life was simpler...more bassic.
