A tribute to Hanuman, this sitar-only CD is great for meditation, massage, etc. and was recorded in the early morning between 4 and 6 a.m. in the country near Chapel Hill, NC. The stillness of the morning comes through, with sounds of birds in the background at the end as the sun rises. I went out into the country to the building that I helped build for the Sufi community that I was involved with. My friend let me in at 11 PM on a Sunday evening. I get everything set up and ready to record, hit the record button and all of the sudden wind began blowing; I heard thunder in the distance. It was a very sudden storm coming up. I stopped the recording and began to unhook my microphone cord. Then I stopped thinking no, I'm going to wait this out. I laid down on my cushion and slept until 4 AM when the storm hit subsided and it was so quiet there. My Indian friend reminded me that Hanuman is the son of Vayu, the wind God. She exclaimed, this was Hanuman! It was such a beautiful time for him to begin recording in the quiet of the deep morning. I'm sure this is so much better because of that happening. I hope you enjoy and get healing from the sounds.
