Val Vignolli Val Vignolli was born on September 17, 1962, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Since his very early Childhood he became interested in the magic of words and music. He grew up listening to his mother singing artists such as Dolores Duran, Ataulfo Alves, Carmen Miranda, and Elizabeth Cardoso. Later he came to know the world of samba and the rich stories of composers and artists such as Paulinho da Viola, Joao Nogueira, Dona Ivone Lara, Candeia, Nelson Sargento, Nelson Cavaquinho, Monarch, Geraldo Pereira, Silas de Oliveira, Paulo Cesar Pinheiro, among others. The sound of Bossa Nova with its dissonant chords, the always enchanted, as the Tropicalia movement, which built a psychedelic poetry and was rich in thematic lyrical dialogue. Samba has always been the backbone of Val’s artist's work in Rio, though always attentive to the rhythms that have come from all over the planet.
