简介

ZERO DOWN: Irreverent Revivalist Revelry Fully formed in ’04, ZERO DOWN wildly and unapologetically embrace the amalgam legacy of British Heavy Metal and American Hard Rock, to wit - guitar harmonics fueled, sensational front man driven fury and frolicing ala Judas Priest and Van Halen, respectively. Brought with unique flourish and personality, and alongside reverential nods to members of the extended metal family, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Thin Lizzy, ZERO DOWN is a superbly blended homage to rock, finely wrought, hyper enthusiastically delivered, easily accessible in time and PacNw geography. Metal Misfit, Pirate, Card Dealer, Tortured Genius and The Lone Wolf, the characters that comprise ZERO DOWN are as individually entertaining as one could imagine. Lenny-the-Face, Ronnie-the-Eye, Hawk-the-Mountain, Fred-the-Philosopher, and Tyler, Lone Wolf are conceivably the greatest metal meatball ensemble cast presenting rock and roll today. But of course, the ZERO DOWN whole is easily greater than the sum of the parts. Which, FYI, is what makes a great band, in case you didn’t know. Not afraid of the “Revivalist” tag, nay, embracing it, ZERO DOWN’s debut offering, ‘05’s “Old Time Revival” put them on the map for pure hearted revivalist metal delivered fervently in the spirit of tent revivals. Zealous testifying to the almighty rock, this year’s highly anticipated follow up, “Good Times at the Gates of Hell” has arrived, extending the musical themes and musicality, while presenting a more distilled purity of form. Seemingly, the apprentices have grown to equal the masters. Featuring another colorful cast member, Martin “Sweet Wizard” Feveyear stars in both recording occasions as the producer, producing a solid set of names to drop (having worked with QOTSA, Presidents of the U.S. of A., Gruntruck, Screaming Trees), as well as his impressively deft handling of ZERO DOWN’S power and prowess. As if there weren’t enough clown cooks in the ZERO DOWN kitchen, enter iconic illustrator Ed Repka (see: Megadeth and 3 Inches of Blood CD cover art), and his stunning capture of the ZERO DOWN Snake Handler mascot. “Good Times at the Gates of Hell” is indeed the complete package. That is, if you like rock. “Zero Down is a band I've seen evolve over the past years from just another garage rock band into a full-fledged metal assault. Think '80s AC/DC meets Motorhead metal punked up a bit, throw in Flying V's, fog machines, guitar solos and a group of guys that don't take themselves too seriously, and you've got a rock'n'roll powerhouse” Dan 10 Things "Well crafted songs built on big hooks and crashing guitars put this Seattle, Wa outfit on the forefront of a new generation of loud bands." The Cutting-Edge.Net " there is a new band on the block, intent on getting the metal message to the masses, and that band is Zero Down!" Metal-Rules.Com "A new fresh sound containing Punk roots, Hard Rock and Old-School Metal!" PunkUnited.Com “Snake-handling rockers ala vintage THIN LIZZY precision to visceral velocity, hell bound brutality and pile driving passion! Highly Recommended!” CLASSIC ROCK Magazine Appearing regularly at only the grimiest night clubs and independent record stores in the greater PacNw region, ZERO DOWN’s rock & roll testimony is maniacally catchy and readily available. Casting any doubts aside, the mission has been stated, mascots have been anointed, colorful cast assembled, foundations laid and snake oil brewed and bottled, the ZERO DOWN crusade has only just begun.
