简介

Costlofobic has been on the local St. Louis hip-hop scene since 2002 when they dropped their first full length LP titled Place Yo' Bets. Since then them Fobic Boys been consistently doing their thing and building a strong fan base across the mid-west. The group prides themselves on their mid-western upbringing, thus making it their priority to represent the “618”, which covers the Illinois side of the St. Louis Metropolitan region. Costlofobic consists of three very different and talented MCs, each with his own unique style and approach to the music. Corleone, Tic-Toc, and Playa-D separate themselves as artists in each track, but in a way that does not take away from the group. Costlofobic uses these individual contributions as means to produce a variety of quality music. The combination of the three individuals is what sets the group apart from the competition. Costlofobic got their start performing on the college scene in 2002. After the release of Place Yo' Bets, the boys were able to book numerous gigs at a variety of schools including: University of Missouri Rolla, Northern Illinois University, Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and Southwest Missouri State. Word spread quickly, and soon Costlofobic found themselves performing regularly in many St. Louis hot spots. After releasing a compilation album in 2003, Costlofobic focused their attention in a different direction. In 2004, they released the Mix tape Volume 1, in an effort to reach listeners who may not have been aware of local underground hip hop. Due to the increase of illegal bootlegging, mix tapes allowed artists to flood the streets with new music, without the financial loss. Costlofobic followed in 2005 with the release of the Mix tape Volume 2. The release of these two albums allowed the boys to display their lyrical talents on well known industry beats. To date Costlofobic has worked with many different artists and companies from the St. Louis area. The Fobic boys have shared the stage with groups such as: Fu Fops, Gena, Ruka Puff, 2 Sense, Arty J, Naturally Smooth, Wild Bill, 2 Many Styles, Illone, Jelly Joe, 932, Trend Setting Entertainment, STL Entertainment, Capo G, Elite Breed Empire, and Basement Beats, just to name a few. January 1 st 2006, brought about a new year, as well as the release of the highly anticipated new album, all in the Bag. Since its release, all in the Bag has been highly accredited, and even referred to as an underground classic. This new album sums up the struggles of the group and is proof of their hard work and longevity. Select tracks from the new album are also available for download on www.myspace.com/costlofobic. June 5, 2007 is the day the new Fobic album hit stores locally in the St. Louis region. The new cd titled "The Take Over", is Costlofobic's most highly anticipated album.
