It depicts the incredible journey of The Salvation Army's Laotian ministry in the USA, highlighting the struggles and ultimately the victories of this important and effective ministry. Life was hard in Laos after the Vietnam War. Desperate to protect their families, the three Louangamath brothers conspired to flee the Communist regime, escaping to a refugee camp in Thailand. Despite dismal conditions, the families persevered. Over time the families separated, relocating to different locations. Bounmy, the youngest, moved with his family to the Philippines, where he taught tae kwon do at the refugee camp and began to learn more about Jesus through The Salvation Army’s ministry. Meanwhile, Phone and his family settled in Santa Rosa, California, where they, too, encountered The Salvation Army. Eventually all three families reunited and became involved with Salvation Army ministry. They ended up at the Seattle Temple Corps, and began the Army’s first Laotian ministry. This was the beginning of a legacy for the Laotian people in The Salvation Army. Today, the ministry continues to grow throughout the United States and Canada.
