'Girlfriend' is a love song which focuses on the moment when two people see each other and feel as if they’ve seen their future,’ Ricky Muscat (lead singer) says. With its opening string lines reminiscent of seventies disco, Girlfriend combines the funk sensibility of Jamiroquai with the heartfelt strains of Stevie Wonder to deliver a pop RnB flavoured tune with its sights set firmly on the dance floor while aiming at your soul. 'We had a great time making the record, trying to get the balance right between staying contemporary but keeping a little old school flavour in there as well.'

'Girlfriend' was written by Ricky Muscat, James Leigh and Vince Leigh. The Leigh Brothers also produced and mixed the track at Refinery Recording, the home of Cultivator Records.
