The Ascension of Micky’s Piano is an album of music for the short film “The Ascension of Micky’s Piano” (awarded “Best Narrative” at the 2009 SUYS Film Festival) performed by Jeffrey Neufeld and composed by Jordan Nobles The first half of the album consists of beautiful, open sonorities that explore the simple richness of the piano as an acoustic instrument. The second half was handed to DJ Hanaa, who remixed acoustic loops from the original recording with subtle craftsmanship, creating downtempo beats consistent with the aesthetic of the project.
