Y.U.P.专辑介绍：by Antti J. RavelinYUP's last effort for the independent Elmerecords label, Toppatakkeja ja Toledon Terästä, is a difficult piece of music to listen to. With two guitarists, they are even more able to play complex guitar riffs, constantly change rhythms, and have more than 30 different parts in one song. Luckily Toppatakkeja is also their first record with a real producer, so things aren't so out of control. The first tracks, "Tyttö Jota Rakastan" and "Minä Olen Myyrä," are basically the same than any track on Huuda Harkiten, but as previously mentioned, a producer and more than one guitarist make the final sound richer and cleaner. Lyrics, however, are based on Martikainen's novel and tell an absurd story of a small town. So basically Toppatakkeja is a theme album. Therefore, the new produced sound of YUP sounds more polished and the story in lyrics makes the album come alive. Maybe it's a hard one to listen to, but friends of progressive music surely can align to YUP's weird musical mix-up.
