简介
This album has been inspired by the macabre, the unknown and perhaps the unknowable. I work primarily as a jazz guitarist and spend a lot of time driving the highways and back roads of Australia. My first musical love though is the heavier sounds of the 70’s and 80’s. I have always had a fascination with UFO tales, bigfoot encounters and ghostly happenings. Just the kind of stories you want to hear late at night miles from anywhere. I wanted to create a musical odyssey that reflects the ‘big sky’ nature of the open road, the ever changing landscape and the potential for anything can happen. This is a concept album. It’s my homage to all of this. It’s a longish album, I know, but it’s only the length of the average journey to work or a good walk. If it were on vinyl (which may yet happen), it would be a double. Besides all that, more bang for your buck! I play all the instruments on the recording. I borrowed a few bits and pieces of classic audio I found in my searching for ideas. There are very few edits on this album. It’s mainly all first takes. I wanted it to sound real and earthy with character. I like to take a jazz musician's approach. Old school... I spent way longer mixing it making it sound as superb as I could with what I did. I wanted it to be ‘ear candy’. One of the questions 'cdbaby' asks when you upload your album is to prompt you to pick three artists you sound like. I honestly hope I've made a unique piece of art here that doesn't sound like anything you've ever heard before. I can tell you that amidst the lush tech keys, spooky sounds and big drums I aimed to make the guitar sound exciting. That's what I always try to do. If you like a sense of the epic. If you want some music that's a trip. That's a bit unlike anything else. If you like guitar, dynamic instrumental music and electric sounds I hope you’ll like this.
