Employing a tongue-and-cheek lyrical style, this album roughly tells the story of a person who moves through a number of emotional life stages. The first three songs are about youth and love. The fourth song is about rebellion. The fifth song details a tragic event. The sixth and seventh songs express a deep and extended depression. In the eighth and ninth songs, the main character is slowly pulling him/herself out of depression. In the tenth and eleventh songs, the main character rediscovers love. The last two songs are odd narrator commentary of sorts.
