During the past several years, Craig's accomplishments have placed him among Baltimore's most well-known alt-country/Americana musicians. His newest release, Whispering Low, represents his unique take on contemporary Country/Americana music. It might best be considered a summer road trip soundtrack. The songs Country Style, Summertime Love, and Hotel Bed were written on visits to the beach in Ocean City, Maryland and Truro in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Life Without Fear recounts memories of living at the beach without a care. Whispering Low is the quintessential road trip song, and Leaving Lafayette, to the strains of a Cajun fiddle, tells the story of a man lamenting the loss of his life as he knows it only to realize that the answers to his dilemma can be found without leaving home. Whispering Low is an upbeat song cycle that is perfect for the relaxing days of summer. Craig regularly performs in and around the Baltimore area. As a member of the Baltimore Songwriter's Association (BSA), Craig regularly appears at BSA showcases and is a featured performer at many of the BSA's events. Highway to Love, a song from his 2009 release, won honorable mention in the 17th annual Billboard World Song Contest. Highway To Love was also included on the BSA's annual compilation CD, Songs From Our Circle 5. he is also a member of the Songwriter's Association of Washington (SAW) and the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA). Craig's songwriting is honest, straightforward, and literate. With influences ranging from Gram Parsons, Lucinda Williams, and Steve Earle to Neil Young, George Jones, Elvis Costello, and Graham Parker, his songs are often first-person accounts of life's twists and turns, and spot-on depictions of contemporary characters including beautiful women and down-on-their-luck adolescents and adults. While casual listeners might remark about his powerful voice or his rhythmic guitar playing, those more familiar with his work are drawn in by his lyrics - his ability to make the words as important (or more) than any other facet of his performances. Craig’s music allows listeners to share the experiences of a Baltimore-born singer-songwriter who has never cared to forsake his mid-Atlantic roots for the opportunities that might have been provided by other venues in other places.
