My debut album: "Code Switching" compiles the few best tracks from around 40 I recorded over 5 years of experiments to find my voice as a singer/songwriter. Those 40 recordings were drawn out of over 150 songs that I filled my notebooks with over a period of over 10 years. The voice that I found in all these experiments is an emissary in a ministry of reconciliation between the factions, bound by strange attractions, that form the diverse communities that have formed me and continue to transform me every day. Like the kids on my block used to say about me: " I'm mix-ted." The term: "code switching" refers to the way folk who live in multi-cultural settings naturally switch between ways of communicating depending on who they are connecting with and where. When I realized that, for me code switching is as natural as talking or walking, I also realized that I had something to SING about. That's where this album comes from. Thanks for listening, Marcos.
