"Fossils" is a collaboration between Sons of Perdition and Jaran Hereid. Jaran asked Zebulon to write lyrics and sing on “Save Our Souls” for his band Yuma Sun’s album, “Hell.” They considered it a successful collaboration, so the seed for “Fossils” was planted. The two contribute to some of each other’s songs on the album. Sons of Perdition was started by Zebulon Whatley (Austin, Texas) in 2003. “Fossils” is the first album by Sons of Perdition to feature the full band in its current state, the band having begun as a solo project. It marks a departure from their previous work on the Dissolution Trilogy (2007-2014) both aesthetically and thematically. Jaran Hereid is the singer, songwriter, and violinist for the Norwegian band, Yuma Sun. Yuma Sun released their debut album, “Romanza” in 2012. Their sophomore follow-up, “Hell,” was released in 2014.
