These are songs I sing to my kids, written for them and with them, filled with love. You can find all of the lyrics and chord info on my website or email me at hello@kelliwelli.com to get them. I wrote "Got So Much Love for You" after babysitting some of my best friends' little girl, Ava, before I had kids of my own. What a delight! I wrote "The Ooh La La Song" for our dog, Duke, a black lab, also a couple of years before I had human kids—he will always be our first kid. "Little Ray of Sunshine" was an inspiration while out walking, pushing my twins in a really long infant stroller, happy to be out and about and for a little ray of sunshine on a gray Portland winter's day. I wrote "I'm in Love with You" on a little "mom-cation", taking a break just by myself, when my kids were about 2 years old (I was at Disneyland—I know, by myself!—waiting in lines to go on rides, thinking about my tiny people and working out the lyrics). Now we sing this song together at bedtime. And, "Tacos, Bananas, and Toy Boats" was one of the first songs I ever wrote, years and years before I had kids, when I was just figuring out that songwriting was something I loved to do. What a nice surprise to have the Gastich kids show up on the day of recording to be a part of this song! I hope you enjoy these songs and feel the love and inspiration that's gone into them.
