简介
by Martin Walters If the hilarious title is any indication, one would wonder if the former Run On guitarist's experimental music is savvy, inconsistent, elusive, and charming like that of the Lemonheads singer who is butt of the joke. The New Zealand noise label Corpus Hermenticum found a kinship with the New York noise king and released this collection of obtuse feedback experiments with accompanying pop musicology dossier on an unsuspecting and all too serious avant-garde music audience in the late '90s. Containing a series of somewhat humorous experiments, this CD documents some of the most thrilling divulgences into noise experimentation that the improviser released post his tenure in the legendary noise group Blue Humans. Throughout a rock sensibility prevails, and solo noise guitar dominates the album aside from a beautiful pipe organ and bass clarinet drone that touches on minimalism. Another great moment of lo-fi mayhem is "Lonesome Valley" where a tape recording of a South Carolina hollering contest is turned into a post-experimental sonic drama. Strikingly packaged in a white card box, the release is a limited-edition CD and booklet.
