Neotry: A musical sound that contains a chorus and verse(s) centralized around spoken word. Neotry is inspired by jazz, soul, hip-hop, and R&B. This is a genre of music created to give spoken word artists an outlet to create music that includes poetry. It’s a mixture of organic sounds developed outside the sound of neo soul. The PoeticRockstar, a poet and musician, to describe the neo sounds of poetry, created the term, Neotry. He wanted to create a sound for poets that allowed them to express their poetry through music. Neotry is a mixture of soul, jazz, hip-hop, and R&B.

Purpose: To provide an outlet for spoken word artists to combine musical talents via spoken word
