简介
Continuing the momentum of last year's debut Moving Forward, Arise Roots' sophomore release takes them to the front ranks of the Pacific reggae scene. Ambitious and wide-ranging, Love and War delivers both hard-hitting conscious lyrics and catchy love songs, deep dub and pop hooks. The collection was recorded at Imperial Sound in San Diego with the help of veteran engineer E.N. Young of Tribal Seeds, The set opens with a blistering collaboration with Jamaica's Rootz Underground. Hawaii's' up and coming Hirie makes Cool Me Down a sweet summer treat. Matthew Liufau of Seedless, Dan Kelley of Fortunate Youth and E.N. Young also infuse their influence on different tracks, creating some truly unique and ear-pleasing blends. Anyone who has had the opportunity to witness the band's live show understands the power of the positive vibes produced by Arise Roots. Those who haven't may get the opportunity soon, as they expand their touring horizons and continue to share the stage with the likes of Barrington Levy, Ky-Mani Marley, The Wailers, Don Carlos, Midnite, and even hip-hop icons Public Enemy. With Love and War, Arise Roots has achieved their goal of creating a fresh sound with universal appeal and a modern edge, yet never compromising the true feel of real roots reggae.
