简介
On January 16, 1980, two-year old Daniel Thompson climbed up on the piano bench and to everyone’s surprise played as clear as day “Happy Birthday” for his mother’s birthday. He then followed it up with the theme song from his all time favorite movie, “Super Man.” It was not, however, until the age of five that he began taking piano lessons. In the 4th Grade, Daniel had a teacher who taught him one very important thing which kindled his love for creating music. His teacher told a story of her little boy who while not very old asked her to come and listen to him play a song he wrote. She listened, and while the notes he played would have sounded to anyone else like a mess and confusion, she congratulated him on a beautiful song. She then told her class that when it comes to the arts (painting, sculpting, music and such) no matter what you create, it is a work of art and always something you can be proud of. So with his bit of knowledge, Daniel went to work writing music, and eventually at the age of 11, he entered his first song in the PTA Reflections Contest, and won first place in his school. Throughout the years he continued to win awards in the city, region, and eventually 1st Place in the state Reflections Contest. He also received Honorable Mention in the National PTA Reflections contest. Previously released in 1993, The Four Seasons is a collection of pieces Daniel entered in various competitions from the 6th Grade to the 9th Grade.
