The Basics are an indie-pop band from Melbourne, Australia, formed by Wally de Backer and Kris Schroeder in 2002.Keep Your Friends Close" is the 3rd long-playing release Composed in Australia's Western Desert, and recorded between Melbourne and London (at Abbey Road Studios), the album demonstrates a further evolution of the band from retro-rockers to one of Australia's best-loved outfits in the tradition of Crowded House, Hunters and Collectors and The Triffids.
