简介
Nestled between the big band sound of the early 1940's and the birth of rock and roll in the late 50's, was a style of music that gave way to rhythm and blues. This high energy dance music was created by black artists who were inspired by the pre-war swing era. In turn, these artists were inspirational to the founding fathers of rock and roll, such as Bill Haley and his Comets, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, and of course, Elvis Presley. These musicians often credited the jump blues bands of the '40's and '50's as the basis and influence of their sound. Performing over 100 dates a year since 1997, the Rhythm Rockets bring to the stage the energy and nostalgia of the late 1940's Jump, Swing, Rhythm and Blues bands. This group's show and music have been a favorite to audiences of all ages. From the infectious, toe-tapping rhythms, to the bar-walking saxophones, to the sultry vocals, to it all, the Rhythm Rockets stay true to the performance of this musical genre of Jump Blues. The Rhythm Rockets have performed at many of Chicagoland's top entertainment venues...The House of Blues; Frankie's Blue Room; Willowbrook Ballroom; Taste of Chicago; The United Center; Navy Pier, Paramount Arts Center, The Rialto and more. The Rhythm Rockets have performed in New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin, California, Kentucky, St. Louis, Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Seattle. "The Rhythm Rockets play with the authenticity that will keep the Jump Blues tradition alive."...John Gorney, Blue Midnight, WPNA 1390AM, Chicago "These guys blow me away!"...Mr. B, Swing Time, WJNC 1360AM, Philadelphia "Just incredible...such a tight, solid band!"...Slim, Basement of Blues Show, WYKT 105.5FM, Joliet "They call their music, "vintage jump, swing, rhythm and blues," the label suggests some of the influences that come together in the music but doesn't even hint at how well they interact. The band is tight and professional. They play the audience as much as the music, with the sax section as likely to be out in the crowd as on the stage!"...John Daab, The Woodstock Independent "...be bedazzled by their maddening style and eye-popping playing ability...astounded by the inexplicably interaction between this swingin' seven."...Iva-Marie Saint, Northern Star, DeKalb, IL "The Rhythm Rockets bring back the upbeat innocence of an earlier time in a growing trend toward concept bands."...Spotlight, Press Publications
