简介
After gaining wide exposure in Ireland with rave reviews and lots of radio play, Michael has decided to bring his original music back home, giving it world wide exposure. "Missing You" was co-produced by Jackie Cook, one of Roy Orbison's guitar players. Many of the instruments heard are played by Michael himself, but the recordings also feature Nashville based session players such as Michael Daly, John Kearns, Jim (Turbo) Kirby, Dave Francis, and Rick Lonow. With the kind of musical experience these musicians bring to the table, this CD is guaranteed to be a good listen. BIO Michael Sheahan When people are exposed to the musical talents of Michael Sheahan they are truly amazed; not only by his arranging, writing and performance, but by his multi-instrumental virtuosity and especially his masterful vocal ability. Michael made his singing debut when he was five. By the time he was nine, he was proficient on violin, mandolin, banjo, accordion, tin whistle, concert flute, guitar, and bodhron. He played violin with the Children's Youth Orchestra, and sang with the Children's Chorus of the Metropolitan Opera of New York. He had the opportunity to perform in world class venues including Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. At the same time he was winning Irish music competitions both in the United States and in Ireland, including contests for song writing. During the time Michael was studying voice, violin and viola at Laguardia High School of Music and Art (made famous in the television show Fame), and continuing in college. He was putting bands together for the "Show-Band" scene in New York, playing the country, rock and Celtic music he grew up loving and listening to. Today Michael uses the experience and discipline of his formal musical training to sing, play, write and record the music he loves. His voice can travel up and down the octaves with ease. He can be as powerful as Pavorotti or Meat Loaf, as soft and warm as Vince Gill or Chris Isaac. The sweet emotional falsetto and belting power of his remarkable voice are most often compared to those of the great Roy Orbison. Michael has also developed a fine reputation as a session singer and musician. He is an established songwriter, writing for pop, country and Celtic artists, as well as himself. Many of the songs Michael writes have the heart felt lyrics that reflect the reality of his not-so-typical life experiences. His "day job" was a detective for the NYPD where he received more than twenty-five citations for bravery. He has since left the department to pursue his dreams. Michael Sheahan has been playing to packed houses on stages large and small all of his life. He's a real "people person" with a great smile and a warm handshake. His love for what he does comes across in every performance to the delight of every listener.
