简介
I am a Texan. I was born in Waco, and raised in Tyler. I live in Round Rock with my wife, 2 kids, 2 dogs, a cat, and a guinea pig. I began taking guitar lessons at age 15. I was not extremely diligent with this from a music/theory standpoint, but I wanted to play loud rock and roll so I did. I played in a band in high school, that spun into a couple of bands through college. We played some originals and I believe this is where I found the art of writing and collaborating was simply fun. I then lived a roller coaster of a life starting a family and a business which took most of my time so serious songwriting took a back seat. I realized that I missed what writing a song does to my soul and how the expression affects my outlook on life challenges. In 2014, I attended a songwriting workshop in Wimberley TX. It was a very intimate and eye-opening weekend dissecting the building blocks of a song while emphasizing the perspective of the songwriting process and how it conveys from the artist to the listener. Not to mention, there was some killer talent involved. The whole experience was a breath of fresh air after somewhat of an artistic hiatus. In the last several years I have been taking a serious approach with songwriting and balancing my other responsibilities; and the balance is natural. Songwriting is my outlet and expression. The more I write, the more I tend to uncover otherwise forgotten memories and feelings of my life. This has been healing and comforting to me. I believe if I continue to nurture this outlet, it will only help me become a better person. My true passion is all about meeting new folks and sharing my music; bonding and celebrating life’s good, bad, and ugly as we all move toward the inevitable…waking up on the other side of the dirt.
