Sikemor is an indie-folk band based out of Silverlake, CA, that was formed in 2012 by siblings Rafael, Gabe and Fiona Cansino. Strong roots and training in classical music and opera, as well as influences such as Radiohead, The Head and The Heart, Sufjan Stevens and The National have formed Sikemor's unique sound. Rafael and Fiona reel the listener in with haunting harmonies, while Gabe adds layers of rhythmic, oscillating guitar to fill out the sound. Sikemor has been performing around LA since September 2015, and has played at venues such as The Mint, Villain's Tavern, the LA Marathon and Crane's Bar Downtown. They are currently in residency at The Escondite in downtown LA, and just released their first single, How Do You Sleep, in April 2016. Their debut EP, Paperweight, will be released on June 18th at the Hotel Cafe 2nd Stage. They're all living together again for the first time in awhile, and it's working out better this time, because they don't scratch and bite each other quite as much as they used to! They're hoping that maybe soon they can stop being so poor though, so they don't have to live together forever...
