简介

Where They At?  Ask Mr. Todd Maxwell, Tmax, a rapper out of Boston, and he'll tell you "Right here!"   In 1995, Maxwell was the winner of the prestigious unsigned hype award in the Source, later Taps Entertainment's Tony Tucker enlisted Hip Hop's infamous producer Pete Rock to make the beat for Tmax's "What Would You Do" video. The song and video went on to become the Music Nation winner in the Urban category.  Now, Tmax has new record out on the Underground label, and a song featured on the season premiere of the highly anticipated Showtime hit series, Ray Donavan.   Tmax has paid dues.  He is a highly skilled MC who has put years into his art.  He has been in the game long before MCs rapped lyrics being read from their smartphones, or comped vocal tracks from multiple takes, choosing the best one.  This new beat is a track that not many MCs can handle, the odd meter bars are enough to throw almost any seasoned MC.    "Come On Down and Get With This" is the Tmax's newest track after a stint in Atlanta, collaborating with Ralph Tresvant, singer of the 1990s Urban Pop sensation, New Edition. Here's the full history:  After being chosen to help write  for Mark Wahlberg's (then Marky Mark) first 2 albums for Interscope Records, Maxwell went on to complete a full album of his own material for Polydor Records that was produced by New Kids On The Block member Danny Wood, and Dow Brain and Brad Young of Underground Productions.  The album was never released!   The entire team was discouraged.  This was a time when independent rap was new and thriving, Tmax had what it took and everyone knew it.  After this intense musical heartbreak, Tmax released a few tracks on vinyl on the Damage label and started to develop some of his new material. He teamed up with Public Enemy documentary director Robert Patton-Spruill, and Boston MC "Brick Casey" Staton to write and perform the theme song for the movie "Turntable"  (Will Lyman, Tyrone Burton, Tony Todd,) Then, he reconnected with producer Dow Brain who had recently worked on the #1 Pop hit by LMFAO, "Party Rock Anthem." The two immediately got back in the studio after being shaken by the bombings in their home town. Brain and Maxwell found their ability to create innovative new rap music was stronger than ever before and they began to work on finishing that album!
