In a Lonely Place is the Brainchild of Darryl Mitchell, the Bass player from punk band Upside Down Room.

Despite that connection, In a Lonely Place has a sound all its own. IALP plays a unique blend of dark ambient music. It's largely instrumental, it has plenty of synths, and sometimes it's got a little groove to it.

Mitchell has been creating music as In a Lonely Place for the better part of three decades. He's worked with numerous collaborators, including Jason Martin of Starflyer 59 (who is featured playing guitar on this album). He's released musiq with some of the coolest indie labels out there, such as Velvet Blue Music, Plastiq Musiq, and Burnt Toast Vinyl.
