Jan Jacques, who worked at SuperSound Studio, called me one day when I was living in Hollywood and invited me to come up and record some of my songs. Bass player, Tom Fedele, was also a pilot and used to fly us (Guitarist: Jesse Gress, Producer: Sam Weatherly and myself) back and forth between LA, where we lived, to Monterey, where the studio was. Drummer, James Zitro, was already working at SuperSound so we met up with him there. We'd played together for many years and he was on a few of my albums. I immediately wrote "You Were Always in My Band" for him! It's included on this album: Track #12. The special chemistry of the band can be heard in the recordings (the first 6 tracks). The tracks that follow were recorded the same year and cherrypicked for your optimum listening pleasure. Jesse also plays guitar on the final track, "Welcome Home". He later joined Todd Rungren's band. Grab a couple friends, kick back and let this CD transport you back to that final year of the 70's - Welcome to 1979!
