Ocean Grown consist of core members Nik Cardenas, Tanner Scott and Tim Bakewell. Nik and Tanner have been making music together since the early 2010's in California's Central Valley based out of Merced. Their band, A Sunst at Oakhurst, Played the Cali circuit sharing the stage with bands such as Natural Vibrations, Through the roots, 77 Jefferson,dub seeds and more... Now the boys are back at in action but this time home base in on the Kona side of the Big Island of Hawaii where they met drummer Timothy Bakewell, also new to the island from Southern California. The group met while living in the same apartment building in the spring of 2014. Nik and Tan made a move from the city to the hills in south Konas' Captain Cook. Shortly after, Tim followed and decided to join the band and they have been making music as Ocean Grown ever since; playing acoustic shows at various locations on Big Island and are currently in the studio, wich is run out of their home , recording their first full band Ep expected to be released mid to late 2017. Ocean Growns style of reggae is different than most focusing on lessons learned in real life experiences presented in a way that is relatable to the everyday life and struggles hidden in a molodic reggae riddim that will surely make you bob your head.
