Mexi-Jewish entertainer, Liah Alonso is a provocative blend of soulful pop-diva and guitar-slinging rock goddess. Her music blends the intensity and grit of voices like Janis Joplin with the lyrical sensibility of song-writers like She has performed for audiences across South America and Europe and is currently enjoying Summer in NYC while recording her next project, an experimental pop album called “Twisted Loveliness”. Liah will be performing at select events this Summer as a solo artist, duo and full-band before leaving the country to shoot a musical-travel tv show about her life in the Fall. www.liahalonso.com Bio: Born in California and raised between Mexico and the USA, Liah Alonso's evocative voice has been known to have the power to stop an NYC subway car. After graduating from NYU, Liah fulfilled her life-long passion for music by becoming a full-time musician. She quit a great job as a Spanish language interpreter at Rikers Island Jail and Children’s Services and took to the subways with her guitar and a portable amplifier. She formed the band, Left On Red and honed her craft as a singer and rhythm guitarist as she connected with people in the the streets and subways of New York City. It wasn't long before the rest of the world took notice of Liah's high-energy performances and catchy, intelligent pop songwriting. Liah and her band recorded 2 EPS and 1 full-length concept album and became known internationally as "The Beautiful subway buskers of NYC". They toured across the country, to Paris and Spain and shared stages with Jackson Browne and Tom Morello.
