简介
"Songs of the Maniacs" is the long-awaited new album from Worm Quartet, a one-man band from Rochester, NY known for spewing hyperspeed lyrical lunacy over catchy synthesized poppy punky music. Worm Quartet is a regular on the legendary Dr. Demento radio show, and had the most requested song of 2004 with the ex-girlfriend ode "Great Idea For A Song" and the second most requested song of 2002 with the anti-drummer anthem "Frank's Not In The Band Anymore," as well as having collaborating with Sudden Death on the most requested song of 2005, "Inner Voice." They also collaborated with MC Lars, and appear on his album “This Gigantic Robot Kills.” They are card-carrying core members of The Funny Music Project (www.thefump.com) and have previously shared the stage with such other artists as MC Lars, the great Luke Ski, The Voodoo Glow Skulls, Marc Gunn, Tom Smith, Ookla the Mok, The Pietasters, MC Frontalot, Rob Balder, Joe Giaccoio, Carla Ulbrich, The Vibrators, and Dr. Demento himself. They insist on referring to themselves in the plural despite the fact that the sole member of Worm Quartet is a 6'4” long-haired maniac who insists on being called "Shoebox." This is Worm Quartet's first album since 2007's "Mental Notes," and features the Logan-award winning "The Ballad Of Dr. Stopp," the heart-wrenching ode to the early days of Internet love "Less Than Three," the thoroughly-ridiculous singalong favorite "The Laundromat of Sin" and a veritable modest quantity of other tracks, some of which have already appeared on The FuMP and some of which have never before been heard by human ears. Also includes guest appearances from Chris Mezzolesta of Power Salad, Marc Gunn, TV's Kyle, Luke Ski, Curt Allen, Ben Dean, and other people from Shoebox's facebook friends list!
