简介
Atlanta duo Rokstedy release their much anticipated third album entitled Flamethrower. Currently based in Nove Zamky (New Castle) Slovakia, the new project ambitiously infuses electro and retro-funk grit, with battle worthy lyric flows across gospel-esque and soul tinged super vocals. G'Money (Ginelle Gordon) and Rage meander effortlessly across various interlocking soundscapes on this project very much like a G5 nonchalantly cruising the globe. From drum and bass club bangers like ' American Hustler' and 'Bobby Bitter' to the middle eastern influenced boom bap bounce of Testify; one moment you're riding with them in the drop top cruising Santa Monica Boulevard on Cali Bomb and a split second later you're raising your glass in a pub in Nove Zamky on Ruka Hore. They even give a respectful nod to 70's Atlanta by venturing into suped-up,psychedelic power funk rock with 'Cage Rattle' ( imagine Mother's finest meets hiphop). The duo address personal themes of romance, faith as well as story telling about battling inner demons as part of everyday life. The project also openly celebrates life and travel in several cities across the globe from which they obviously draw inspiration for their musical palette.Yet the title track, though recorded and mixed in Novi Sad Serbia, brings their audience back to that hip-hop funk center Atlanta has become so well known for with groups like Outkast. Produced almost completely in Slovakia, Rage and G'money follow through on their vision to give new platforms to burgeoning talent ( producer/beatmakers,rappers etc) in some of the most unexpected places around the world. Their smash hit American Hustler already dominated Slovak radio FM for well over 12 weeks. Slickly produced by Slovakia's drum and bass duo iBstract, this club anthem is a return to the glory days of London's classic jungle style. With no holds barred attitude coupled with hook laden appeal these fourteen cuts will be a great addition to your playlist this summer.
